Job summary
We are looking for a Medical Coder/Summarizer to join our busy GP Practice, working within our Operations Team. Our Coders are responsible for coding the relevant information into our patients' healthcare records using the TPP System One clinical system.
We provide services to 12,500 patients in Saltdean and the surrounding areas, our Operations Team is key to the smooth running of the practice.
Main duties of the job
Key responsibilities include:
Accurately code data onto patient records in line with Snomed Identifying clinical information, coding appropriately and completing detailed actions Scanning of patient documentation and attaching scanned documents to patients' healthcare records Amending and / or making additions to medical records to ensure that correct and complete information is within each patients' electronic record Additional ad hoc tasks within the team as requiredPrevious experience in a medical setting as a Medical Coder using System One would be preferred, along with these skills:
Experience of administrative work Excellent attention to detail Organised and able to prioritise a busy and changing workload, working to tight deadlines Flexible with a positive, can-do attitude Excellent written and verbal communication Ability to work as part of a team and autonomously
About us
Our patient list size is approximately 12,500, operating from the Grand Ocean building in Saltdean, just a short stroll from the sea and 5 miles from the centre of Brighton. We are a large team of approximately 40 staff consisting of 11 GPs, Nurses, Pharmacists, Paramedics and administrators.
