Haywood Hospital Therapies Portfolio prides itself on the delivery of quality care to all patients, many with complex needs. We are looking for enthusiastic Rehab Therapy Support Workers to join our teams working in a variety of settings across the Discharge to Assess (D2A) hospital & community beds.
This is a dynamic role that requires collaborative working as a system supporting bed flow, managing timely discharges and post discharge supporting longer term adaptation and resettlement back into the community. The overall aim being to improve the health and wellbeing of the population served.
We are looking for highly motivated,proactive, enthusiastic, good team workers with excellent organisational and interpersonal skills. The ability to prioritise tasks together with effective communication is essential. You should have a methodical and organised approach to work and be able to work under your own initiative once fully trained. The nature of the service will be determined by local service specifications.
You will be required to support current service pressures and be flexible in approach across our 7 day services. Community working requires essential car driving on daily basis and lone working in line with service / Trust Policy.
Main duties of the job
To work with individuals and carers who may find it difficult to engage with the service or aspects of the service resulting in uncooperative or challenging behaviour that has to be managed. To apply skills, knowledge and competences to recognise any significant change in the holistic needs of the service user/carer and feedback to the registered practitioner. To maintain contemporaneous and accurate records as required by the Partnership Trust and in line with HCPC standards. To make resources for use in therapy/care taking direction from registered practitioners as required. To use problem solving and innovation to deliver a high standard of intervention within competences whilst managing the demands of unplanned aspects of the role where appropriate. To participate in regular supervision. To contribute to the process of induction for new team members and demonstrates duties to others as required. To identify own training/educational needs as part of the supervision and appraisal process in conjunction with registered practitioners. Attains and maintains an agreed level of competence through ongoing training and development To collect and input statistical information as required. To participate in and support the team in undertaking clinical audit. To actively promote the implementation and upholding of policies, procedures, guidelines and directives, along with relevant statutory measures and governmental directives.

Person Specification
Experience Essential
Relevant Experience of working in a rehab inpatient / community setting / care environment Working as part of team effectively /effective communication in a range of environments. Ability to manage time effectively. Evidence of basic IT skills.
Desirable
Supporting service users, families and carers in dealing with the impact of compromised functional ability. Working in a multidisciplinary team. Experience of working with Physiotherapy & / or Occupational Therapy.
Personal Attributes Essential
Demonstrates values compatible with MPFT values and behaviours. Commitment to working across 7 days to support consistent rehabilitation ethos Full UK driving licence and access to vehicle for work purposes. UK driving licence and business insurance

Able to accept feedback and demonstrate awareness of own development needs.
Qualifications Essential
Qualifications and Credit Framework QCF/NVQ/ Apprenticeship Level 3 or equivalent in related subject or evidence of comparable academic study. Evidence of/willing to undertake training relevant to the post.

Care Certificate is completed in all 15 areas within 12 weeks (pro rata) of commencement of contract.
