Job summary

An exciting opportunity awaits the right candidate as NHS North East and North Cumbria Integrated Care Board (ICB) seeks to recruit a permanent, Band 3 Business Support Assistant within the Neighbourhood Health South Commissioning Team. The post is full time however we are willing to consider part time or other flexible arrangements.

The role will require working in a busy but friendly and supportive environment. It will suit an organised person with an eye for detail and plenty of team spirit.

By joining our team in Tees Valley, you will be supporting the continued development of high-quality accessible health care to improve health outcomes and reduce inequalities for the people of Hartlepool, Stockton-on-Tees, Darlington, Middlesbrough and Redcar and Cleveland. The ICB is responsible for ensuring that high quality and safe health services are accessible to all our communities. Main duties of the job As a key support member of the team, the post holder may be in contact with a range of colleagues, healthcare provider organisations, key stakeholder staff and members of the public including patients and carers.They will manage a range of duties such as answering telephone calls, taking accurate messages and sharing with the relevant departments/person. Using initiative and judgement to resolve queries and diary commitments. They will be able to work on their own initiative and unsupervised, within specific timescales.The post holder will demonstrate a professional image at all times, ensuring tact and diplomacy. Our Integrated Care Board (ICB) is the largest in the country.

The ICB is responsible for ensuring that high quality and safe health services are accessible to all of our communities. It has a wide range of functions, including; promoting integration of health and care services, improving peoples health and well-being, reducing health inequalities.

With a £6.6 billion budget and a workforce of 170,000 people across the North East and North Cumbria. As well as strategic functions, ICB staff also work at place level with local health and wellbeing boards in each of our 14 local authority areas. These teams also work alongside our 67 primary care networks which are groups of local GP practices, social care teams and other community- based area providers.

The ICB works with our Provider Collaborative too, this includes the 11 NHS Foundation Trusts in the region, to deliver our shared priorities.

Job description Job responsibilities To provide an effective and efficient business support service to the organisation. The post holder will contribute to the smooth running of the service, working with colleagues across the ICB and ensuring deadlines are achieved within a constantly changing workload.The key responsibilities of this post will include standard office duties such as typing correspondence, printing/photocopying, taking minutes or action notes, records management, room bookings, meeting/event support; and collating and distributing meeting papers. This post requires greeting visitors and ensuring passes are allocated correctly, dealing with in/out postal or courier requests, maintaining databases, making room bookings and providing diary management to senior staff. The post holder will support reception services when required, including handling phone calls and resolving enquiries.

Person Specification

Qualifications Essential

A good standard of secondary education to GCSE level or equivalent incl. mathematics and English

Desirable

NVQ Level 2 Business Administration qualification/ equivalent qualification or equivalent business support experience Working towards NVQ level 3 Business Administration qualification or equivalent qualification/experience. ECDL

Experience Essential

Minute/note taking experience. Experience of working in a busy office environment

Desirable

Experience of working in an NHS or healthcare administrative environment Working towards NVQ level 3 Business Administration qualification or equivalent qualification/experience. Formal minute taking experience. Experience of working in a busy team. Experience of working in a healthcare administrative environment Experience of working with NHS Oracle procurement system Experience of working to tight deadlines
