Job summary
The Women's Health Clinical Lead will provide professional clinical leadership to the PCA with respect to women's health and the delivery of a Women's Health Hub (WHH) for the West Berkshire area, funded by the ICB through their Innovation Fund. The role will oversee the PCAs responsibilities with respect to the WHH and support the strategic development of women's health services in Berkshire West.
In addition, the Lead will also be expected to hold two clinical sessions a week delivering patient clinics, which will be paid at our GP sessional rate. Therefore it is desirable that applicants are located within or within a commutable distance of West Berkshire.

ROLE DESCRIPTION
Womens Health Clinical Lead
Title:Womens Health Clinical Lead, Primary Care Alliance (PCA).
Hours:Two days a week (two sessions leading and 2 sessions in clinic).
Term: 1st July 2026 31st March 2027.
Remuneration: Annual Salary £60,000-£62,000 per annum
Eligibility: A suitably qualified practicing GP.
Reporting to:Identified Board Director of the PCA.
Key Relationships: The Lead will build and maintain excellent working relationships between the PCA and a wide range of stakeholders, including general practice, the Royal Berkshire NHS Foundation Trust (the Trust), Healthwatch and the Thames Valley Integrated Care Board. Job Summary:

Summary Responsibilities:
The Womens Health Lead will:
Be the professional lead on womens health for the PCA.
Provide clinical oversight on the mobilisation and delivery of the WHH and in alignment with PCAs corporate policies and procedures.
Ensure the necessary supervision of clinical staff working in the WHH.
Assess referrals to the WHH, provide advice to primary care referrers, and triage to appropriate women's health services in collaboration with WHH and Trust colleagues.
Attend MDTs with the Trust (frequency to be determined).
Attend meetings in relation to the WHH as required, including with the PCA, the Trust, PCNs/Practices, and the ICB.
Promote the vision and values of the PCA externally.
The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate:
Substantial experience and knowledge of womens health issues at a local and national level.
Experience working in an NHS primary care setting either within general practice, PCNs, CCGs or federations.
Have at least one of the following qualifications (although multiple preferred):
o Membership of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (MRCOG)
o Diploma of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (DRCOG)
o Membership of the College of Sexual and Reproductive Healthcare (MCSRH)
o CoSRH Diploma (DCSRH) or DFSRH
o BMS Advanced Certificate in the Principles and Practice of Menopause Care
o Postgraduate Diploma (PGDip) in Gynaecology or Womens Health
o Letter of Competence Subdermal Contraceptive Implants Techniques Insertion and Removal (LoC SDI-IR)
Experience of working at system level, with a good local knowledge of the health and care system in Berkshire West.
Have held responsibilities in previous or current posts commensurate to a leadership role.
