Job summary
Please note: at this stage, the role is open only to colleagues currently employed by the Kent and Medway Integrated Care Board (ICB) and Southeast Integrated Care Boards; and current at-risk employees within Kent and Medway NHS Trusts.
The postholder will be responsible for contract finance across a diverse portfolio of NHS and non-NHS healthcare providers. Reporting to the Deputy Director of Contracting, they will provide senior leadership and expert technical advice to ensure robust financial control, value for money and delivery of statutory financial targets, while supporting strategic decision-making across the system.
Main duties of the job
o Responsible for contract finance management activities across the contract finance team, managing multi-million pound contracts for a diverse range of providers (e.g. NHS acute, independent sector, community, mental health) to ensure value for money, robust financial control, and alignment to ICB objectives.
o Leading support of the long and medium term financial planning activities in respect of the ICB and its contracted healthcare services, including overall operational and longer-term financial plans to ensure the delivery of key financial targets / regulatory requirements.
o Overseeing the contract finance management activities for financial planning, reconciliation, strategy development and costing to support delivery of the in-year financial position and understanding of the longer term financial plan.
o Overseeing and coordinating annual contract planning cycles to ensure robust contract planning in line with provider operational targets, commissioner budgets and contractual guidance and relevant policies
o Senior lead on interpreting and implementing local and national policies as they apply to their areas of expertise within the contract portfolio and deliver the implementation of relevant policies, including but not limited to the implementation of the NHS Payment Scheme, NHS Standard Contract technical guidance, counting and coding assurance.
