Come and join us in a secondment opportunity not offered previously in North Cumbria!The Pelvic Health Physiotherapy team are a small and ambitious, looking to expand and support new team members and we would like an Assistant Practitioner to join us on a 6 months basis.

The team support men and women across Cumbria to manage a range of pelvic health conditions including acute and long term conditions; pre and post-operative procedures.

We are keen to develop a wide range of skills within the team and with the support of senior staff we would like you to help in managing some of our less complex caseload; running groups; supporting service development and bringing the skills and opportunities you feel you can offer to us.

The post will be based in West Cumbria (Whitehaven and Workington) but some travel and cross site working will be anticipated (including but not exclusive to Carlisle).

Have you had previous experience of working with this patient group and would like to challenge those skills further? Is this something new and you would like to see whether a change in team will push you to learn new skills?

We are keen for applicants across the Trust who have a passion for helping patients with the skills to support this secondment and to improve the service whilst working with us.

Main duties of the job

To provide assistance to professionally registered staff, working effectively as a member of the multi-disciplinary team and provide a programme of department, clinic and community based therapeutic interventions to patients with pelvic health conditions.

To have specialised expertise, accurate physical assessment skills and following agreed protocols, work independently with patients in this clinical area.

Assist in providing flexible, patient centred treatment programmes in both face to face and virtual consultations.

Take responsibility for own caseload of patients.

To communicate effectively with patients, families, carers and other professionals to ensure an integrated approach to care
