Boasting a top tier research and development (R&D) facility at our Two Bridges site in Chertsey, where we focus on research and clinical trials for dementia, psychosis, depression and eating disorders. We have an exciting new role to complement our R&D team for an individual who:
values the principles of medicines optimisation and improving the care, quality, and experience of people who use our services has excellent clinical, organisational, and communication skills, sound IT skills and the ability to work unsupervised and as part of a team. will develop and maintain a close relationship with our Pharmacy Team who are based at Farnham Road Hospital, Guildford. SABP are a multisite Trust, so the role may require some travel between sites
Main duties of the job
To work closely with the Clinical Pharmacy Team in delivering excellent clinical pharmacy services to our inpatient wards.
To lead in the delivery of specialist mental health clinical pharmacy services and to inpatient services, based Silverwood at St. Peter's Hospital as part of a multi-disciplinary approach for addressing the pharmaceutical care needs of people who use our services
Pharmaceutical care planning and clinical review of prescriptions including developing strategies for managing complex cases
Involvement of people who use our services in decisions about their medicines to optimise treatment, support adherence and improve outcomes
To provide expert pharmaceutical advice and respond to complex enquiries from consultants, medical staff, non-medical prescribers, nurses and other members of the multidisciplinary team (MDT) and prioritise tasks according to the level of urgency
Working to develop bespoke local guidelines and protocols to support clinicians and nursing staff within the Trust
Provide expert medicines management advice and support and ensuring appropriate governance arrangements are in place for the management of medicines, including the monitoring of prescribing and medicines use.

Qualifications and Professional Registration Essential
Masters or equivalent degree in Pharmacy Postgraduate Certificate in General Pharmacy or Psychiatric Pharmacy (or equivalent) Registered with General Pharmaceutical Council Good Clinical Practice Certificate
Desirable
Postgraduate Diploma in Clinical or Psychiatric Pharmacy Member of Royal Pharmaceutical Society Member of College of Mental Health Pharmacy Good Manufacturing Practice Certificate
Experience Essential
Post-registration experience of mental health and/or general hospital pharmacy Knowledge and understanding of evidence-based healthcare Good computer skills Competent interpersonal skills and able to achieve outcomes through team working as well as own initiative Ability to supervise, mentor, and deliver training activities to staff
Desirable
Leading on clinical audit Experience and understanding of pharmacist aspects of clinical trials including Good Clinical Practice Proven skills in information retrieval Demonstrated ability to work with other professional team members in secondary care
