University Hospitals of Derby and Burton are pleased to offer this opportunity for a Specialist Grade Doctor in Anaesthetics with a Special Interest in Obstetric Anaesthesia.
This is a permanent role and will be 40 hours per week (10 Programmed Activities (PA's)). The job plan is based on a Specialist Grade Contract (2021) with 9PA's for Direct Clinical Care and 1 PA for Supporting Professional Activities.

Main duties of the job
AllSpecialist Doctors will be involved in providing a general clinical service to the Trust, providing clinicalservices to Derbyshire, EastStaffordshireand surrounding areas, with colleaguesand tobe responsible forthediagnosis and treatment of patientsat the hospitalsandclinics at which you have dutiesand the proper functioning of the department.
You'll be responsible for thecontinuing care and treatment of patientsin your chargeand personal performance of clinical duties as agreedin your job plan, allowing for all proper delegation to and training of your staff, theteaching of staff in training, and the multidisciplinary team.
You'll be maintaining flexible arrangements for emergency coverand a provision of cover for colleagues during reasonable periods of leave including the care of patients and supervision of resident doctors.

We see on average 4810 OP appointments a day. We are the 4th busiest Trauma & Orthopaedic outpatients department in England - an average of 2077 per week. An average of 1115 patients are seen in A&Es across our network every day - 3rd largest in the country. Our hospitals admit an average of 195 emergency patients daily. Last year we undertook almost 33,700 planned surgical operations in our 57 operating theatres. We are one of only 7 Trusts nationally with more than 50 operating theatres. We carry out more than 140 elective procedures each working day. Person Specification
Qualifications Essential

Experience Essential
Completed a minimum of 12 years full time postgraduate training (or its equivalent gained on a part-time or flexible basis) - Candidates must meet this eligibility for the grade as per National Terms and Conditions.
