Main duties of the job You should be an independent prescriber (or working towards) as the role has a focus on delivering pharmacist-led clinics and joint-clinics with doctors, offering patient focused and proactive care. The role has a focus on developing and using your clinical skills and knowledge to improve care through the delivery of efficient medicines optimisation to promote high quality care and reduce health inequalities. Applicants need to be able to work well both within the pharmacy and wider community mental health teams but also be able to practice autonomously, undertaking individual patient assessments and consultations as required. Experience of working within community mental health teams is desirable but not essential
The base of your role will be either Barking & Dagenham, Redbridge or Waltham Forest, and the pharmacy base is at Goodmayes Hospital, Barley Lane, Ilford

About the Role
An exciting opportunity has arisen for two highly motivated and enthusiastic individuals to join our expanding pharmacy team to lead new mental health clinical pharmacy services across our community teams as part of our ongoing Transformation of mental health services. Each of the roles will lead a pharmacy team in either Barking & Dagenham or Waltham Forest, whilst working with the other borough leads to develop and improve the health outcomes in community mental health services across both adult and older adult mental health patients, working in multidisciplinary teams.
High cost Area Supplement - Outer London (Barking & Dagenham, Redbridge, Havering and Waltham Forest). This post also attreacts paymenet for High Cost Area Supplement of 15% of the basic salary (with minimum of £4,870 to a maximum of £6,137 p.a. pro rata for part time).

Qualifications Essential
MPharm or equivalent Registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC) Postgraduate diploma or equivalent in clinical pharmacy Postgraduate certificate in Psychiatric Therapeutics Independent prescriber registration or willingness to undertake course Member of the College of Mental Health Pharmacy Demonstrates own CPD record / or documented CPD
Desirable
Credentialed member of the College or Mental Health Pharmacy, or RPS advanced specialist practice in Mental Health Management qualification or equivalent experience
Experience Essential
Substantive post registration clinical experience in mental health Experience of managing and appraising staff Evidence of writing and reviewing policies, procedures and patient group directions Experience in hospital, community and primary care settings Experience of providing training or groups to patients and/or carers
Desirable
Evidence of leadership skills Evidence of operational service delivery and project or change management Experience of working at a strategic level across the wider health community
