Main duties of the job
Main purpose of the role to be responsible for the smooth running of the care group medical staffing, ensuring that coordinated and streamlined admin processes revolve around the care group business needs.
The postholder will ensure all medical shifts are filled across the care group in a timely fashion, this will ensure full service provision and patient safety and will also reduce the need for last minute costly cover.
Postholder will report directly to the CG business manager and will work with the medical leads, the care group management team and the trusts central teams such as medical HR

Job description Job responsibilities
A Medical Staffing Coordinator within Neurosciences at UHS is responsible for coordinating and maintaining medical staffing rotas for doctors and other medical staff across the department.
The role involves ensuring safe and effective medical cover, managing rota changes, annual leave, study leave, and on-call arrangements, while supporting compliance with working time regulations and staffing policies.
The coordinator works closely with clinical leads, consultants, trainees, and workforce teams to address staffing gaps, facilitate rota planning, and ensure accurate workforce records are maintained. This role focuses on medical workforce management rather than nursing staff rostering.

Person Specification
Qualifications, knowledge and experience Essential
Level 4 Diploma or equivalent experience Knowledge across a range of administrative work procedures including non-routine elements. Detailed knowledge of admin procedures and working processes Significant experience as a secretary or administrative assistant in a customer-focused environment Experience of complex staff rosters A good understanding of the importance of confidentiality and data protection
Desirable
Previous experience of working within the NHS Proficient in the use of all hospital computerised IT systems relevant to the role (Healthroster, ESR, TRAC, eRota) Experience of recruitment
