About this role

Job summary

The Care Group Operational Transformation Lead will support the delivery of strategic transformation and service improvement programmes across the Children & Families Care Group. Working alongside operational, clinical and professional leaders, you will act as a facilitator, coach and improvement specialist, helping teams translate strategy into practical delivery and sustainable change.

The role will use extensive operational and quality improvement expertise to support services to identify opportunities, solve complex challenges and implement improvements that enhance outcomes, experience and efficiency. In the role you will lead and facilitate improvement activity, build capability within teams, and bring people together across organisational boundaries to develop shared solutions.

Working collaboratively with colleagues and system partners, you will use data, insight and quality improvement methodology to drive transformation, remove barriers to progress and ensure programmes deliver tangible benefits for children, young people and families. The role requires a proactive individual who can influence, engage and support others to make change happen in complex environments.

This role would suit an experienced operational leader, transformation specialist or improvement practitioner who combines strong project delivery skills with the ability to inspire, influence and support others to achieve lasting change.

Main duties of the job

Leading and facilitating transformation and quality improvement programmes across the Care Group. Coaching and supporting leaders, teams and partners to develop and implement sustainable improvements. Designing and facilitating workshops, engagement events and collaborative improvement activities. Building strong relationships and influencing across health, local authority, education and voluntary sector partners. Supporting the implementation of new pathways, models of care and service redesign initiatives. Using quality improvement methodology, performance data and operational insight to identify opportunities and measure impact. Removing barriers to delivery, supporting problem-solving and maintaining momentum across programmes. Developing improvement capability and embedding a culture of continuous improvement. Producing high-quality reports, presentations and recommendations to inform decision-making and provide assurance to senior leaders.

Person Specification

Education Essential

Educated to degree level or equivalent professional experience in a relevant field Evidence of continuing professional development relevant to operational leadership, transformation or quality improvement

Desirable

Postgraduate qualification or equivalent advanced study

Experience Essential

Significant experience working in a management role within NHS, health, social care or related public sector services Experience of leading complex service transformation, redesign or improvement programmes Experience of leading change and improvement within clinical or operational services Demonstrable ability to analyse complex problems, identify solutions and drive implementation Knowledge and practical application of quality improvement methodologies and service improvement approaches Ability to facilitate collaborative working, workshops and improvement activity to achieve agreed outcomes Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including presenting complex information to diverse audiences Ability to work independently, prioritise effectively and deliver results in a complex environment

Experience of developing operational models, pathways, policies or standard operating procedures
