We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Salaried GP to join our friendly and growing team at The Village Surgery in Barnet (EN4 8RF). This is an exciting opportunity to become part of a well-established practice that embraces technology and values clinician wellbeing.
We are seeking either one GP for 5-6 sessions per week, or two GPs able to cover 3 sessions each
Main duties of the job
The successful candidate will provide high-quality, patient-centred care to our practice population and work collaboratively within our multidisciplinary team.
Key responsibilities will include:
Undertaking routine and urgent GP consultations, both face-to-face and remotely.Managing a clinical workload appropriate to the number of contracted sessions.Participating in the practice's duty doctor/on-call rota, including the triage and management of eConsults and other same-day patient requests.Reviewing and actioning clinical correspondence, pathology results, and other clinical administration.Working closely with our wider clinical team, including pharmacists, nursing staff, and PCN colleagues, to deliver coordinated patient care.Contributing to quality improvement initiatives, service development, and the achievement of practice and PCN objectives.Maintaining accurate and up-to-date clinical records.Participating in clinical meetings and significant event reviews where appropriate.Supporting the practice's commitment to innovation, digital transformation, and continuous improvement in patient care.

The Village Surgery is a growing practice with a current list size of approximately 6,300 patients. Your role will include:

Person Specification
Qualifications Essential
Fully qualified General Practitioner with inclusion on the GMC GP Register. MBChB/ MRCGP qualification (or equivalent UK recognised qualification). Current licence to practise with the General Medical Council (GMC). Included on the NHS England Medical Performers List (or eligible for inclusion). Evidence of ongoing Continuing Professional Development (CPD) and commitment to maintaining professional knowledge and skills.
Desirable
Additional qualifications or specialist interests that would complement the needs of the practice. Experience or qualifications in teaching, training or leadership roles.
Experience Essential
Experience of working within UK General Practice. Ability to manage a broad range of clinical presentations across all age groups. Experience of working effectively within a multidisciplinary team. Competent in managing both acute and chronic medical conditions. Experience of using EMIS Web & Docman Understanding of Quality and Outcomes Framework (QOF), clinical governance and NHS primary care priorities.
Desirable
Experience of participating in quality improvement projects, service development or clinical audits. Experience of supervising or supporting trainees, students or other healthcare professionals. Involvement in PCN, locality or wider healthcare initiatives.

Ability to work independently while recognising when to seek support or advice. Good organisational and time management skills. Strong IT skills and confidence using digital tools to support patient care.
