This is primarily a clinical role to be carried out across all sites of Guy's and St Thomas' NHS Trust.The job is 10 PAs per week for a whole-time contract - DCCs 9 PAs and SPA 1 PA at the start with opportunities in expanding supporting professional activities based on specific experience in other fields.
Main duties of the job
Provide comprehensive care across a wide range ofsurgicalspecialities, delivering safe,effectiveand evidence-based peri-operative care for patients undergoing elective and emergency procedures.
Undertake independent clinical practicein accordance withGMC standards,maintainingthe competencies required to provide high-qualityanaestheticservices across multiple clinical settings, including theatres, day surgery, interventional radiology, cardiac catheter laboratories,endoscopyand pre-operative assessment.
Participate in providing emergencyanaestheticservices and specialist support asrequired, while working flexibly across Guy's and St Thomas'Hospital sites to meet service needs. There will be noOncall commitment.
Contribute to the education, supervision and development of medical students,anaesthetictrainees, clinicalfellowsand multidisciplinary colleagues.
Participate in clinical governance activities, including audit, quality improvement, morbidity and mortality reviews, incidentinvestigationand the implementation of learning to improve patient safety and service quality.
Support research,innovationand service development, working collaboratively with clinical,nursingand managerial colleagues to enhance patient outcomes, operationalperformanceandorganisationalobjectives.
Undertake annual appraisals and job-planning as a part of revalidation

Professional Qualifications Essential
Eligible for full UK GMC registration and a Licence to Practise Fellowship of the Royal College of Anaesthetists or equivalent Appropriate Career progression to be applying for a new consultant post
