Job summary
We have an exciting opportunity to join our Occupational health team we are looking for an Occupational Health Staff Nurse you will be an integral part of the service and will be required to participate in the provision of full clinical Occupational Health nursing services to all the staff and private contracts of MSE Trust, Occupational Health..
Participate in promoting the health and wellbeing of employees and support in safeguarding their health from risks arising from their work and their working environment.
You will also be expected to participate in a range of Occupational Health nursing tasks which will protect employee's pre-employment and in-employment health and wellbeing.
In accordance with the AfC salary scale, the salary for this role is as follows:
Entry: £32,073Midpoint: £34,592Top: £39,043
Placement within this range is dependent on your level of experience.
Main duties of the job
Internally communication is with the OH team and more widely with colleagues in the shared service teams such as the TB services, Sexual health and HIV clinics and wellbeing service.
Display good negotiation skills and empathy when delivering difficult messages and the ability to break down barriers in communication and understanding.
External communication include private clients clients contracting to the OH services. Communication with department managers/ key staff. Colleagues in people/HR/development directorates
Assist the occupational health nursing team to ensure that all data regarding blood tests and immunisations are accurately recorded on the computerised database, that staff are informed of any outstanding screening or immunisations and provided with information regarding immunisations and blood test results on request.
Be able to administer a range of occupational immunisations in accordance with the Written Instructions.
Undertake pre-employment health screening and assessment of fitness to work with recommendations for adjustments to the workplace in accordance with the Equality Act 2010 under supervision of qualified occupational health nurses. Assess the need for further information from GP, specialist or previous employer for pre-employment blood tests in accordance with Department of Health guidelines and gain the appropriate consent.
