Hywel Dda Health is Board looking for a motivated, passionate and experienced individual to join the newly established Children and Young People's Weight Management Service.
The successful applicant will provide specialist physiotherapy input into the Children and Young People's Weight Management Service. Working collaboratively with multi disciplinary colleagues the post holder will be responsible for the design, implementation and evaluation of the Children and Young People's Weight Management Service, acting as the physiotherapy expert. This is an exciting new post working alongside colleagues in medicine, nursing, clinical psychology, dietetics and occupational therapy.

Main duties of the job
As a key specialist within our service, you will play a pivotal role in shaping and delivering high-quality weight management care for children and young people across the Health Board. This is aunique opportunity to make a meaningful difference to influence service development, lead on clinical excellence, and support the growth of others within a dynamic, multidisciplinary environment.
Your main responsibilities will be:
Develop and maintain clinical standards in weight management for children and young people across the Health Board. Develop a competency-based framework for therapy practitioners and support staff in line with national frameworks. This will include planning & delivering skills-based training within this specialty area Work with a range of other health care staff and partners to develop, implement and deliver the weight management clinical pathway for children and young people, acting as the physiotherapy expert and supporting others working across all levels of the Weight Management Pathway. Autonomously manage a caseload of clients with highly specialisedcomplex needs, using evidence based/client centred principles to assess, plan, implement and evaluate interventions within weight management for children and young people.

Qualifications and Knowledge Essential
Degree or recognised equivalent in Physiotherapy Current professional registration with HCPC Significant post graduate specialist education within relevant clinical area at level equivalent to Master's or equivalent experience
Desirable
MSc within relevant specialty Post-graduate qualification up to post grad diploma level in relevant area Clinical/Practice Education Training Course Member of professional body/Specialist Interest Group Evidence of leadership courses/ qualifications
Experience Essential
Significant post-graduate experience; including relevant experience in either weight management or paediatrics Managing a complex caseload using an advanced clinical reasoning process Significant experience working as an autonomous practitioner Significant experience in multi-agency team working within specialist area Therapeutic handling and risk assessments Direct involvement with carers and families Evidence of supporting service compliance with clinical governance requirements.
