If so, an exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 7 -Flow Co-ordinator to join the Imaging Directorate within University Hospitals of North Midlands. Interventional Radiology is a highly specialised and challenging department that requires an enthusiastic Flow Co-ordinator that shows commitment and a positive approach towards change.

The Imaging Nursing Workforce cover both the Royal Stoke Hospital and County hospital in Stafford. It provides nursing support to the Radiology Day Case Unit, CT, Ultrasound and Nuclear Medicine, Point of Care and the Interventional Radiology Theatres.

The successful applicant will be able to demonstrate excellent communication and team working skills and will be dedicated to improving the patient's experience within the Imaging Directorate. You must have a proven ability in supervising, managing and controlling the activities of a unit in an effective and efficient manner with an enthusiasm to improve patient flow and efficiencies within the clinical area.

Applicants must have significant post registration experience, with previous experience at least 18 months at Band 6 level or above. Recent experience in Imaging Department or in a relevant acute clinical setting such as theatres is essential.

Main duties of the job

To ensure optimum running of interventional suites to guarantee good patient flow, maximum efficient utilisation of theatre time and resources.

Liaise with all members of the multi-disciplinary team and facilitate a collaborative approach to patient care.

Act as a credible and professional role model. Encourage and empower other staff to develop both personally and professionally to achieve their maximum potential.

Job description Job responsibilities

Establish a clear focus and direction for the team ensuring staff understand their role and are given guidance and support to fulfil them. Manage all theatre lists to ensure maximum efficiency of theatres. Ensure that Interventional Radiology theatres and peripheral areas are run in a calm and efficient manner that ensures best use of theatres, staff and resources.

Person Specification

Experience Essential

minimum of 2 years post registration experience

2 years experience in theatres or Interventional Radiology as a band 6

NMC registration Essential

NMC registration or ODP - HCPC registrants or Radiographers - HCPC registrants

Leadership/ mentorship qualifications
