We have vacancies for registered Anaesthetic Practitioners (RN(anaes) or ODP) to join our Liver and Multivisceral transplant team .
CUH Theatres, is one of the largest and most advanced perioperative care services in the UK. Our team of over 600 staff support 39 state-of-the-art theatres, including 22 in our Main Theatres alone, which are split across three specialist units. We deliver some of the most complex and life-changing procedures available, including neurosurgery, major trauma, specialist paediatrics, complex cancer and obstetric surgeries.
In 2024/25, we performed over 39,000 surgeries and are on track to maintain this level of surgical activity this year, reflecting both the scale and impact of our service. Main duties of the job
Joining our Liver and Multivisceral transplant team as an Anaesthetic Practitioner (RN(anaes) or ODP) offers unparalleled opportunities for professional growth.You will master specialised intraoperative techniques, help manage complex haemodynamic shifts in critically ill patients and play a direct role in life saving procedures.
Advanced clinical skills you will gain include advanced fluid resuscitation and use of cell salvage techniques to include reducing potassium load in critical ill patients and critical stages of their surgery. Use and interpretation of Thromboelastography is also a skill gain that can be transferrable across our complex theatre suites.
You will directly contribute to a complex procedure that has a profound impact, restoring long term quality of life and extending life expectancy.
To undertake the management of a defined clinical area in accordance with own competence and level of experience when required and participate as an integral member of the theatre team, helping to supervise and train students and junior staff.

This vacancy is for Registered Nurses with full NMC registration. If you are an internationally trained nurse that has not passed their OSCE (objective structured clinical examination), you will not be considered for this role and will be automatically rejected, so please do not apply.
