Job SummaryYou will serve as an ENGINEER or SCIENTIST in the Strategic & Computing Systems Department, Strategic Systems Analysis & Assurance Division of NAVSURFWARCENDLD. This position is part of the Warfare Centers Personnel Demonstration Project. The full performance level of ND-04 pay band encompasses positions equivalent to the GS-12 and GS-13.

QualificationsThis is an Interdisciplinary position that can be filled by the 0801 (General Engineering), 1301 (General Physical Science), 1520 (Mathematics), 1550 (Computer Science), or the 1560 (Date Science) series. The series that the selected applicant will be placed into depends on their qualifications. In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the ND-03 pay band (GS-09 through GS-11 equivalency) in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: as a professional engineer or scientist applying engineering or scientific principles to plan, lead, or execute the design or development of complex software systems. Examples of specialized experience may include (1) Developing software in C, C++, Java, and/or python; (2) Developing and executing software tests and testing plans, including automated tests; (3) Utilizing data and software models to conduct system analysis studies to inform future system capabilities; (4) Developing and implementing physics and mathematical based models into software systems; (5) Developing, analyzing and ingesting large data models; (6) Working within an agile software development framework. Major DutiesYou will work on a variety of current and future capabilities for weapons control systems.You will support systems engineering tasks to shape future requirements and inform system and software architecture.You will develop software products at multiple levels to include implementing models, creating prototypes, and delivering software products.You will conduct physics based analyses to inform predicted performance and provide a basis for establishment of requirements.You will develop studies, make recommendations for design trade spaces, document decisions, establish a rigorous development path for products, and actively solve problems and develop solutions for products in development.
