Job SummaryYou will serve as the Lead Facilities Engineer for all AUTEC facilities on Andros Island of NAVUNSEAWARCENDIV NEWPORT RI. This position is part of the Warfare Centers Personnel Demonstration Project. The ND-4 pay band encompasses positions equivalent to GS-12/13.
QualificationsYour resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the ND-03 (GS-9/11 equivalency) in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector as an engineer providing government oversight of a complex facilities maintenance program using their knowledge of electrical, mechanical, structural, and civil repair standards, while successfully managing multiple tasks, building collaborative relationships, and communicating effectively across Navy, industry, and NUWCDIVNPT levels. Major DutiesYou will be responsible for development/content of the Maintenance Action Plan and other short/long-term requirements/plans and budgeting.You will have knowledge and experience in the maintenance, repair and upkeep of buildings and equipment, work requests and trouble calls, and preventative maintenance programs.You will monitor the AUTEC M/O Contractor’s adherence to and progress in executing the MAP and will inspect to ensure proper maintenance procedures are followed.You will inspect the workmanship and quality of repairs performed by AUTEC M/O Contractor and provide evaluation input to the Functional Area Coordinator.You will work closely with the NUWC facilities engineering team, as well as other organizations including NUWCDIVNPT facilities, safety and environmental, internal and external customers, and outside contractors.You will engage in a community of practice with counterpart coworkers at NUWCDIVNPT and to the fullest extent practicable adopt like processes and procedures.You will prioritize and track execution, have general oversight and evaluation of cost, quality and timeliness; serve as the smart buyer including performing periodic assessments of alternatives that would yield quality/cost/timeliness benefits.You will apply his/her engineering knowledge and experience in reviewing drawings and plans submitted by the AUTEC M/O Contractor, NAVFAC or other activities performing facilities related work at AUTEC.You will develop statements of work for assigned facilities projects, engineering services, and corrective maintenance that cannot be performed by AUTEC’s M/O contractor.You will review work requests and sample finished corrective maintenance items for inspection providing feedback to the contractor when rework is required.You will act as the detachment’s lead engineer providing engineering design and installation oversight for new facility construction, facility refurbishments, and component repairs.
