About this role
Executive - Utility Infrastructure & Sustainability Based at Fabric Park, Thulhiriya MAS Fabric Park is Sri Lanka's first and only privately owned apparel intensive free trade zone. Its operations focus primarily on the development and value addition of fabrics. The Park spans across a sprawling 110 acres in Thulhiriya and Giriulla, playing a strategic role in the vertical integration of the MAS supply chain as well as leading critical sustainability targets. Key Responsibilities:
• With the directions and guidance of Director Utilities and Engineering Services, this role need to Support and work with the Deputy General Manager - Hydro, Environmental and Industrial Engineering, Assistant Managers of (UES) for the connected organizational and departmental projects, new augmentations and Process Developments of related utility systems & treatment plants using the specialized knowledge and experience of Civil and Structural engineering and sustainable project management.
• With the guidance and directions of Director Utilities and Engineering Services, Support and work with the Deputy General Manager - Hydro, Environmental and Industrial Engineering and, Assistant Managers of (UES) for related Group Sustainability projects on Water – Wastewater – Waste to Energy and Eco Product streams.
• Assist the Deputy General Manager - Hydro, Environmental and Industrial Engineering.
• by Conducting further research on Maha-Oya Water Source related hydrology assessments as per the future development needs of MAS Fabric Park as an IPZ.
• Lead further development related R&Ds for MFP-Eco Bricks and work for Enhancing marketing potential.
• Support MAS Fabric Park’s ISO14001 Environmental Management System sustenance.
• Prepare Civil Engineering Drawings (AutoCAD) and initial BOQ preparations / cost estimations / management reports and presentations of Sustainable Development Projects.
• Work closely with Utility / Treatment Plant staffs / Support Biomass Management System work centers, Managers and Assistant Managers for ensuring un-interrupted utility services for the IPZ.
• Compilation of Management Information as and when required.
• Assure Safety Health and Environment aspects.
• Perform additional duties commensurate with the current role, as and when requested by management.
• Support to ensure Occupational Health and Safety aspects related to the departmental operations.
Knowledge and Skills:
• Any combination of technical education and experience equivalent to three & half years of full time technical level education and min. Of Ten (10) years of experience in water/wastewater system operations or related field. NAITA / HND / German Tech. Qualification is a key requirement.
• Ability to work for continental shifts / shut down periods.
• Ability to read, understand technical manuals and diagrams (English/Sinhala), whilst being able to teach the junior technician teams.
• Ability to communicate timely and effectively.
