Transmission Engineer Key Responsibilities Provide Tier 2 operational support for MoveIT (Transfer, Automation, Gateway) environments Act as an escalation point with Tier 3-level troubleshooting expertise for complex issues Monitor system performance, availability, and security of MFT platforms Diagnose and resolve issues related to file transfers, connectivity, authentication, and encryption Perform root cause analysis (RCA) and implement permanent fixes Support patching, upgrades, and vulnerability remediation (including zero-day responses) Manage and troubleshoot protocols such as SFTP, FTPS, HTTPS, and SCP Work with certificates (SSL/TLS), key management, and cipher configurations Collaborate with infrastructure, network, and security teams for issue resolution Maintain system documentation, SOPs, and knowledge base articles Support on-call rotation and provide after-hours support when required Assist in automation and scripting (PowerShell, Bash, or Python) to improve operational efficiency Participate in audits and ensure compliance with security standards (NIST, SOC2, etc.) Required Skills & Qualifications Strong hands-on experience with MoveIT Transfer, MoveIT Automation, and MoveIT Gateway Solid understanding of Managed File Transfer (MFT) concepts and architecture Expertise in secure file transfer protocols (SFTP, FTPS, HTTPS, SCP) Experience with Windows Server and/or Linux environments Knowledge of networking fundamentals (DNS, firewall, load balancers, proxies) Experience with authentication mechanisms (AD/LDAP, MFA, certificates) Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills with the ability to handle complex incidents Familiarity with encryption standards and vulnerability management Experience with log analysis and monitoring tools Excellent communication and documentation skills Preferred Qualifications Experience in Tier 3 engineering or L3 support roles Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure) Experience with DevSecOps practices and CI/CD pipelines Certifications related to security, networking, or MFT platforms
