Job description: VP – Delivery - Mainframe Modernization Thoriva · Remote · Full-Time Thoriva, an Infinite Company, is seeking an experienced Vice President of Delivery to lead large-scale enterprise transformation programs focused on mainframe modernization and digital transformation initiatives for our Loan Platforms business unit. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of delivering complex modernization programs involving legacy mainframe platforms, cloud migration, application modernization, and large distributed teams. This leadership role requires strong expertise in delivery management, executive stakeholder engagement, technology transformation, financial oversight, and strategic planning. The VP Delivery will be responsible for driving successful outcomes across modernization portfolios while ensuring operational excellence and customer satisfaction. We combine AI solutions, commercial expertise, and complex business logic to address government and federal agencies’ biggest challenges. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Lead the delivery of enterprise-wide mainframe modernization and transformation programs.
• Develop and execute modernization strategies involving COBOL, CICS, DB2, IMS, z/OS, and legacy applications.
• Drive cloud migration initiatives to Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud platforms.
• Manage large-scale portfolios, program governance, budgets, P&L responsibilities, and delivery excellence.
• Partner with C-level executives, business stakeholders, and technology leaders to align transformation objectives.
• Establish delivery frameworks, risk management processes, and quality assurance standards.
• Lead cross-functional teams including architects, program managers, engineering leaders, and modernization specialists.
• Oversee application re-platforming, re-hosting, refactoring, API enablement, and microservices transformation initiatives.
• Drive Agile, SAFe, DevOps, and modern software delivery practices across programs.
• Ensure resource planning, capacity management, and vendor governance.
• Track key business metrics, delivery KPIs, operational performance, and customer satisfaction outcomes.
• Support business development efforts, solutioning, and executive presentations for prospective clients.
Required Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
• 15+ years of IT leadership experience with at least 8+ years leading large delivery organizations.
• Extensive experience in mainframe modernization, legacy transformation, and cloud migration programs.
• Strong knowledge of:
• IBM Mainframe Technologies (z/OS, COBOL, CICS, JCL, DB2, IMS)
• Application modernization strategies
• Cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP)
• API-led integration and microservices architecture
• Agile and DevOps methodologies
• Demonstrated success managing multi-million-dollar transformation programs.
• Experience working directly with executive leadership and enterprise clients.
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience within consulting organizations such as Deloitte, Accenture, Cognizant, Infosys, TCS, Wipro, Capgemini, or IBM.
• SAFe, PMP, Agile, or Cloud certifications.
• Experience with AI-driven modernization and automation tools.
• Strong understanding of financial services, healthcare, insurance, retail, or public sector modernization initiatives.
