The Booked Admissions Team have an opportunity for this Senior Booking Co-Ordinator role full time.
We are seeking candidates who are proactive, motivated, excellent communicators, methodical and have an eye for detail. Candidates should enjoy working in challenging and busy environments.
Training will be available to any applicant who shows that they have transferrable skills.
Main duties of the job
The Senior booking coordinator is an autonomous role, working as part of the wider Booked Admission team located at Stoke Mandeville. The main duties of the role include
Responsibility for managing the admitted waiting lists for consultants from the Trauma and Orthopaedic service.
Ensuring patients are booked in order of the clinical priority or by the longest waiting whilst adherring to the Trust's access policy and RTT rules.
Liaising with consultants, service managers for surgical specialties, Theatres and other stakeholders
Ensuring patients have been referred to Pre-operative Assessment appropriately and that fitness has been confirmed. Calm and efficient communication with the patient in respect of their pathway and dates for surgery - responding promptly and using a variety of communication methods. Ensuring patients have been appropriately booked on to the appropriate theatre lists on to Bluespier (Theatre system) in a timely fashion Demonstrating hight standards of professionalism and confidentiality

Education, Qualifications & Training Essential
Good Basic Education
Desirable
GCSE or equivalent in Maths and English Customer Care Course or equivalent
Experience Essential
Use of Microsoft office packages Good communication skills, at all levels and across a range of individuals including clinical staff and patients Experience of having worked to performance targets and within a service level agreement

Skills, Abilities & Knowledge Essential
Clear, concise verbal and written communication skills to enable liaison with multi-disciplinary team, patients and carers Able to give attention to detail when scheduling of appointments to prevent breaches of waiting list targets. Aware of Confidentiality code of practice in relation to patients and staff Able to work under pressure and deal with conflict situations to an amicable conclusion. Flexible working attitude in order to be multi skilled in different areas of the service Ensure punctuality and reliability of self to ensure good relationship within team environment.
