About this role
This is a permanent full-time position based at the Neiafu Temple, Vava’u, Tonga, and the successful candidate will be required to work from this location. Reporting to the Area Temple Facilities Manager, this role provides functional and people leadership across temple facilities operations and is responsible for maintaining established standards.
• Provide functional leadership across Facilities teams (Assistant Facilities Managers, Custodial, Grounds, and Security), ensuring effective day-to-day operations.
• Lead, coach, and develop team members, partnering with HR on recruitment, performance management, and workforce planning.
• Oversee the maintenance and operation of temple facilities and associated buildings, ensuring standards are consistently met.
• Plan, manage, and deliver capital projects (renovations and improvements), including compliance with specifications, schedules, and quality standards.
• Coordinate contractors, suppliers, and procurement, including delivery and installation of equipment and materials.
• Develop and execute annual operational and maintenance plans, including preventative maintenance programs.
• Manage departmental budgets, labour resources (staff and contractors), and third-party relationships.
• Build strong relationships with Temple Presidents, Priesthood leaders, and external stakeholders, providing regular updates on operations and project progress.
Required:
• Bachelor’s degree in Facilities Management, Building/Construction, Project Management, or a related field, plus minimum of 4 years’ experience in facilities management; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience (minimum 8 years total)
• Working knowledge of building systems, such as: Electrical distribution and motor controls, Boiler and chiller systems, Plumbing systems, Audio-visual and facility technology systems
• Strong verbal and written communication skills in English, and strong computer literacy

• Ability to sit for extended periods and use computer equipment; ability to lift up to 23 kgs / 50 pounds.
• Experience working in a temple environment is advantageous.
• The applicants must have legal right to work in Tonga, and a police background check may be required.
