Main duties of the job
The Dartford and Gravesham NHS Trust is seeking to appoint a Specialty Doctor in Anaesthesia & Critical Care. The job has arisen as a replacement post and to contribute to the delivery of the Division's strategic objectives and long-term recovery strategy of our elective programme.

Job description Job responsibilities
Successful applicants to the post of Speciality Doctor in Anaesthetics and Critical Care will be expected to work on both hospital sites as required. Clinical commitments will be divided between daytime electiveactivity in theatres, commensurate to the applicants level of clinical experience, and working in the Adult ICU.There is an out-of-hours commitment to the post, which will require the post-holder to contribute to a 1 in 8 rotational pattern, providing on-site resident cover of Obstetrics, ICU, Theatres or ECU, as required by thedepartment and subject to satisfactory induction and clinical competencies being achieved.The advertised post is for a full-time Speciality Doctor in Anaesthetics and Critical care. The successful applicant will be employed under the terms of the national 2021 Speciality Doctor Terms and Conditions.There will be an option to work additional PAs above the standard 10, up to a maximum of 12 PAs. One PA (equivalent of 4 hours per week will be planned for Supporting Professional Development and Revalidation(SPA)

Qualifications Essential
MBBS or equivalent medical qualification. At least 3 years of experience working in anaesthesia and intensive care. Ability to provide safe care in general anaesthetic specialities, obstetric anaesthesia and intensive care under indirect or distant supervision, within the appropriate governance framework of the department, evidenced by recent clinical experience in an equivalent setting. Full GMC registration and eligibility to practice in the UK.
Desirable
Diploma of Fellowship of the Royal College of Anaesthetists, or equivalent Evidence of contribution to governance and audit in an anaesthetic department Experience of working in the NHS
