We are looking to expand the Respiratory Services team within the North Kent Community Diagnostic Centre.
We are looking for a dynamic and innovative physiologist to join our busy, expanding Respiratory physiology department. You would be part of the respiratory services team which consists of other Respiratory Specialists practitioners.
The post Holder should have a science based degree or equivalent in Physiology. The post holder should have ARTP Part 1 (Minimum) be enrolled on the RCCP register or working towards this. You must have experience at working at band 6 and above within an acute setting.
The post holder should be competent and have adequate clinical experience in performing dynamic and relaxed spirometry (including reversibility), gas transfer tests and helium dilution. To have the ability to manage multiple and varied tasks with enthusiasm and prioritise workload with attention to detail.
The post holder will work collaboratively with the Senior Respiratory Physiologists, Lead Nurse for Respiratory Services, Respiratory Consultants, specialist nurses and practitioners across the specialty and Trust as a whole.
Main duties of the job
A Specialist Physiologist who is responsible for the planning, implementation and delivery of the Respiratory Lung Function service across two sites, Darent valley hospital and the North Kent Community Diagnostic Centre.
They will work as a senior practitioner within the multi-disciplinary Respiratory Services team, providing the highest possible standard of care for patients whilst managing the department workload.
The post holder will be able to practice independently in all areas of non-invasive respiratory physiology (full lung function, allergy skin test, sleep study set-up and analyses) whilst supporting the Lead Nurse to manage the service.
They must be able to work unsupervised in all areas, are accountable and responsible for the day to day running of the Lung Function Laboratory and the direct line management of the Band 6 Physiologist/s.
