Ward: Secure, Acute and Crisis Inpatient Wards
Pay Rates: £24.61 per hour
Shift Patterns: Mon to Fri 9-5 (37.5 hour week)

As an Inpatient Social Worker, you will work closely with service users, carers, ward staff, community mental health teams, local authorities, and partner agencies to reduce barriers to discharge and promote positive outcomes. You will also provide expert guidance on safeguarding, the Care Act 2014, Mental Capacity Act, and housing-related matters.
In this role you will be required to:
Leading and coordinating discharge planning from the point of admission.
Identifying and addressing barriers to discharge to prevent delays.
Supporting Care Act assessments and access to appropriate care funding.
Working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team to assess, plan, and review care.
Providing specialist social work input regarding safeguarding adults and children.
Advising colleagues on the Mental Capacity Act and relevant legal frameworks.
Building strong partnerships with families, carers, local authorities, housing providers, and community services.
Managing clinical risk and contributing to high-quality patient care.
Maintaining accurate electronic records and professional documentation.
Acting as a safeguarding lead within the inpatient team.
What youll need:
Degree in Social Work (or equivalent professional qualification).
Current registration with Social Work England.
Experience working with adults with mental health needs.
Knowledge of the Care Act, Mental Health Act, Mental Capacity Act, and safeguarding processes.
Ability to manage a varied workload and work independently.

Person Specification
Experience Essential
Experience working with adults with mental health needs. Knowledge of the Care Act, Mental Health Act, Mental Capacity Act, and safeguarding processes. Ability to manage a varied workload and work independently.
Qualifications Essential
Degree in Social Work (or equivalent professional qualification). Current registration with Social Work England.
