Job summary
This is an exciting opportunity for a 1st rate cardiologist to join our team at the University Hospitals of the North Midlands. This role is suited to consultants with expertise in cardiac imaging and interest in heart failure or inherited cardiac conditions.
This is a substantive appointment, the successful candidate will join a large and diverse team of cardiologists. UHNM has 22 cardiology consultants based at Royal Stoke Hospital and a further 6 consultants working cross site, between UHNM and other centres.
Applicants should have completed their CCT and be on the specialist register.
Main duties of the job
The successful candidate will contribute to the busy imaging service, providing leadership and clinical guidance for the large team of specialist healthcare scientists delivering echocardiography services across the trust and at the new community diagnostic centre. Sessions in cross sectional imaging and advanced echocardiography will be available. there is an expectation that the postholder will also contribute to the general cardiology on call rota, currently 1:11, with inpatient and ward commitments.
Ideally, the successful candidate will have further sub-specialty interest in either advanced heart failure or inherited cardiac conditions. Both of these sub-specialties are developing at UHNM, within these areas the successful candidate will contribute clinics, MDT's and support the growing specialist nurse workforce.

Qualification Essential
MRCP UK or Equivalent Full GMC Registration Clinical training and experience equivalent to that required for gaining entry on the General Medical Council (GMC) Specialist Register via one of the following: oCertificate of Completion of Training (CCT) (the proposed CCT date must be within 6 months of the interview) oCertificate of Eligibility for Specialist Registration (CESR) European Community Rights Accreditation by The British Society of Echocardiography, or equivalent ( such as EACVI) Level 3 Cardiac MRI or Cardiac CT Accreditation MRCP ( I,II and Paces)
