Job summary
The Community Eating Disorders services within the Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS) Shropshire, Telford and Wrekin have a wonderful opportunity for Clinical / Counselling Psychologist. This is a permanent post working 37.5 hours per week based in Shrewsbury or Telford, to provide services across Shropshire, Telford and Wrekin.
The Community Eating Disorders Team CAMHS STW, provides assessment, treatment and interventions to children, young people and their families across Shropshire Telford and Wrekin. The Eating Disorders team provides support for eating difficulties and disorders, including supporting the development of a new ARFID pathway.
In the role you will be supporting with the provision of a therapeutic psychological service,
The Clinical Psychologist will provide highly specialist psychological assessments and interventions in the CAMHS Eating Disorders Service.
This post is an 8a post, however, a Band 7 preceptorship will also be considered.
Main duties of the job
This role will involve highly complex assessments leading to psychological formulations and development of care plans. To work as a member of a Multi-Disciplinary Team MDT. to provide assessment and interventions for individuals and their families who have been referred to the CEDS-CYP. Provide Supervision to psychology and non-psychology colleagues within the services. The role will also entail offering advice and consultation on clients' psychological care to non-psychologist colleagues. Working in collaboration with team lead in regard to service development and clinical management. To represent the team a senior level within the wider care group and Trust organisational meetings, as required. To undertake and contribute to projects, including audit and service evaluation, with colleagues in the service to help develop or improve service provision. To contribute to the development of best practice within the service by continuing to develop the skills of a reflexive practitioner, in the specialist field of Eating Disorders and disorder/distress practice and child and adolescent mental health.
