Advanced Neonatal Physiotherapist- 22.5 hours
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and motivated Advanced Neonatal Physiotherapist to join our innovative neonatal Allied Health Professional (AHP) team, working across the Coventry and Warwickshire Local Maternity and Neonatal System (LMNS).
This unique system-wide role provides strategic leadership, expert clinical support, education, and service development across neonatal units throughout Coventry and Warwickshire. The post plays a pivotal role in ensuring a consistent, high-quality physiotherapy offer for babies and families, helping to reduce variation in care and improve equity of access across the region.
Working collaboratively with multidisciplinary neonatal teams, WMNODN and the wider neonatal AHP workforce, you will support the delivery of evidence-based care, champion family-integrated practice, and contribute to the ongoing development of neonatal services

Main duties of the job
Provide advanced neonatal physiotherapy expertise across multiple neonatal units within the LMNS in Coventry and Warwickshire. Develop and deliver education and training programmes for healthcare professionals, supporting workforce development across the system. Promote a consistent and equitable physiotherapy service for neonates and their families across Coventry and Warwickshire. Work closely with the wider neonatal AHP team to strengthen multidisciplinary collaboration and service delivery. Lead and contribute to quality improvement (QI) initiatives, service evaluation, and innovation projects. Support the implementation of best practice, research, and evidence-based care across neonatal services. Act as a specialist resource for neonatal teams, families, and partner organisations.

You will demonstrate:
Advanced clinical knowledge and skills in neonatal physiotherapy. Experience of service development, education, and quality improvement. Excellent communication and relationship-building skills. The ability to influence change and support the ongoing evolution of neonatal services.
Person Specification
Qualifications Essential
Recognised Physiotherapy degree or equivalent qualification Evidence of extensive continuing professional development related to neonatal physiotherapy. Post graduate training in neonatal care master's level or willingness to work towards
Knowledge Essential
Advanced handling and assessment skills for highly complex neonatal babies Evidence of experience with supervising, mentoring and assessing competence of qualified staff, unqualified staff and students
Experience Essential
Be able to demonstrate experience in working with the neonatal population including advanced assessment of early development Evidence of extensive professional development in a range of appropriate assessment and therapeutic interventions in the area of neonatal care Experience of giving presentations and promoting the work of the service/organisation to relevant stakeholders Ability to work as part of a Team
