Band 6/7 Developmental Upper Gastrointestinal (UPGI) Cancer Clinical Nurse Specialist

This is a part-time post for 20 hours per week.
The Royal Berkshire NHS Foundation Trust is excited to announce that we have a new opportunity for a Band 6/7 developmental clinical nurse specialist in the UPGl cancer team.
We are looking for experienced, motivated and ambitious nurses who want to work in a friendly, supportive and innovative environment.
You will be joining a busy team who are passionate about providing the highest quality care for people living with and beyond cancer.

Main duties of the job
Working in a small and friendly team within a larger CNS team, you will work alongside a multi-disciplinary team of other dedicated and highly skilled healthcare professionals to care for patients and their families, delivering our high service standards, sharing best practice and actively improving the way we work.
The post is a developmental role and depending on experience and ongoing competency development, the post holder will progress from a band 6 to a band 7 role providing autonomous nurse-led services alongside the rest of the team. Applicants with appropriate experience and qualifications may be offered the post at band 7.

To work as a skilled practitioner and be responsible for the delivery of patient-focused programmes of care, which address the complex and changing health and well-being needs of the client group in your caseload.
To work with other professional groups in secondary and primary settings to develop and maintain holistic services for people with cancer.

Education / Qualifications Essential
Registered Nurse 1st degree or equivalent experience Specialist academic study in area Masters level study - for Band 7
Experience Essential
Significant post registration experience Relevant post registration experience in cancer or appropriate speciality (at band 6 or above for band 7) Experience in facilitation/teaching/assessing Experience of multi-professional working Understanding of audit and research (experience of this for Band 7) Evidence of advanced communication skills
