Job summary Join Barnet Lane Clinic in Borehamwood as a Maintenance Assistant where you will be part of creating a well-presented and safe environment for some of the most vulnerable people in society. Elysiums Complex Care and Recovery Service (CCRS) is a highly specialised, bespoke inpatient adult service designed to support individuals whose needs exceed the scope of traditional inpatient service models. The service specialises in treating patients who have experienced multiple or prolonged admissions, stalled discharge pathways, or who have been unable to progress within conventional care environments. As a Maintenance Assistant, you will be responsible for ensuring the services facilities are fit for purpose, gardening and will regularly conduct audits to identify and repair any faults ensuring a safe environment for service users, staff and visitors. Working alongside an established team, you will turn your hand to all maintenance-related tasks, liaising with contractors to support the upkeep of the service. Youll receive all necessary training to get you started and join the dedicated team, where you can make a positive difference.
Main duties of the job As a Maintenance Assistant, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the service, buildings, facilities, and equipment are maintained and fit for purpose. This involves using DIY skills to guarantee the safety of service users through regular checks and maintenance. Your responsibilities will include assisting in the repair and maintenance of buildings, managing all decorating tasks, and reporting faults and defects to a manager. Additionally, you will participate in an on-call rota for emergency maintenance and support contractors on-site. Success in this role requires previous maintenance experience, teamwork, independent work skills, and respect for residents. This is a Part Time position of 22.5 hours a week. As a Maintenance Assistant you will have:
Assisting with ensuring that the service, buildings, facilities and equipment requirements are maintained and fit for purpose. Utilising good DIY skills to ensure safety of service users is maintained. Assisting in regular checks and maintenance. Assisting in the repair and maintenance of all buildings. Assisting in all decorating. Liaising with a manager reporting all faults and defects. Participating in a 1 week retaining on-call rota for the purposes of emergency maintenance. Coordinating and supporting contractors whilst on site and completing of all paperwork and tool checks. To be successful in this role, you will:
