Main duties of the job
As Consultant Psychiatrist and Medical Director, you will provide both clinical and strategic leadership across the hospital. Your responsibilities will include:
Leading the recruitment, induction, and ongoing development of medical staffOverseeing appraisals, revalidation, and performance management processesEnsuring compliance with clinical governance, healthcare policy, and best practice standardsContributing to strategic decision-making as part of the Senior Management TeamMaintaining effective medical cover, including out-of-hours and leave arrangementsLeading on investigations, complaints, and incident managementDriving continuous improvement through learning from incidents, feedback, and outcomesManaging your own clinical caseload and maintaining high standards of careRepresenting the hospital with external stakeholders, commissioners, and partnersFor more information, you can contact the Hospital Director at [email protected]

Person Specification
Requirements Essential
We are looking for a Consultant Psychiatrist with strong clinical expertise and proven leadership capability. You will have: MRCPsych (or equivalent) CCT (or equivalent) and inclusion on the GMC Specialist Register Section 12(2) approval and Approved Clinician status
