We have an exciting opportunity for a Healthcare Assistant to join our Healthcare teams within inpatients unit at HMP Thameside, a category B prison located in London.

HMP Thameside is a busy male resettlement prison with a capacity for 1232 inmates. We are recruiting for a Healthcare Assistant to support the wider healthcare team. Hours

Day and night shifts. 0700 - 1930 1930 - 0700 37.5 hours per week. Salary This position is full time, youll receive an annual salary up to £32,134 per annum

Main duties of the job

As our new Healthcare Assistant, your responsibilities will vary. Some of your duties will include:

Deliver exceptional care to patients, both in the healthcare department and on the wings Facilitate clinics, including bloods, observations (obs), ECGs, NHS Health checks etc Be involved in the implementation of clinical care packages Support the nursing team with all aspects of care Act as a second checker in pharmacy as required Support receptions (new patients entering the prison) and assist with triaging new patients You will primarily be working within the PRIMARY CARE / MENTAL HEALTH / SUBSTANCE MISUSE team, although may be required to carry out duties in the PRIMARY CARE / MENTAL HEALTH / SUBSTANCE MISUSE teams.
