We have an exciting opportunity for a part-time Advanced Clinical Practitioner to join our Integrated Mental Health team with an element of shared care across the wider team at HMP Wakefield, a category A prison in Wakefield.
The Advanced Clinical Practitioner (Mental Health) will be a patient-facing, non-managerial role and play a pivotal role in delivering high quality, evidence based mental health care within the prison environment.

Hours
Working 26 hours a week, 7 hours a day across 4 days.
Salary
This position is part-time, youll receive an annual salary up to £64,750 per annum FTE - depending on experience.

Main duties of the job
As a Advanced Clinical Practitioner, your responsibilities will vary. You will:
Provide advanced assessment, formulation, diagnosis, and management of individuals presenting with a wide range of mental health conditions, including severe mental illness, personality disorder, trauma related needs, complex dual diagnoses. You will promote best practice, clinical supervision, and a culture of reflection and learning, by pro-actively leading and motivating the team. You will support and work alongside clinical leads and team members to deliver training sessions to healthcare and prison staff on mental health, risk, trauma, behaviour management. You will participate in internal and external inspections, reviews and professional meetings which will drive quality improvement and contribute to service transformation projects within the mental health pathway Work alongside the clinical lead to contribute to service development, provide clinical leadership across pathways, and support the delivery of trauma informed, person centred, and safe care. Qualifications required:
Registered Nurse Mental Health, with current NMC registration. We will consider applicants from other professional disciplines who can demonstrate experience of working with patients with complex MH conditions Independent/supplementary prescriber qualification
MSc in Advanced Practice
Experience of working within mental health services, ideally in secure mental health, crisis, acute, community settings and good knowledge of the MHA
Understanding of risk management, self-harm prevention, suicide prevention, trauma-informed care
Drive quality improvement, clinical audit, governance and contribute to service transformation projects
Provide clinical supervision, mentorship, and support to Band 7 clinicians, RMNs, HCAs, and students.
