Job summary
We're seeking an experienced clinical pharmacist to join our Paediatric Team, to support the delivery of clinical pharmacy services across our paediatric wards and departments.
You'll work closely with our multidisciplinary teams and with pharmacy colleagues, benefiting from extensive training, development, research, and networking opportunities. You'll also train and support the development of band 6 and band 7 pharmacists completing rotations in paediatrics.
This is an exciting time to our Paediatric Team. Our new organisation structure is working effectively to deliver high quality care, and we have recently appointed a new, very experienced, Advanced Clinical Lead (8b) Pharmacist to lead our services to Women & Children.
We're looking for someone who:
Has proven experience in delivering high quality care Can support team development Is enthusiastic about improving the care of paediatric patients
Main duties of the job
Utilise expert pharmaceutical knowledge to manage paediatric patients
Utilise the independent prescriber skill daily within your scope of practice (or work towards obtaining).
Provide prescriber support for complex medicine regimes
Support flow with efficient discharge medication supply routes in and out of hours.
Review adverse incident reports and educate medical and nursing teams on pharmaceutical issues to lessen risk
Review and develop guidelines and PGDs. Develop cost improvement initiatives.
Train, develop and line manage band 6, band 7 and trainee pharmacists.

Qualifications Essential
Master's degree in pharmacy (MPharm) or equivalent Registered with General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC) Postgraduate Clinical Pharmacy Diploma / MSc or equivalent Qualification Independent Prescriber with appropriate annotation on GPhC Register (or willing to undertake)
Desirable
Formal management and / or leadership qualification
Experience Essential
Extensive hospital pharmacy experience
Desirable
Have recent clinical pharmacy experience in paediatrics Evidence of involvement in pharmacy practice research Publication of research in a peer reviewed journal / presentation at a national conference.
