Job Summary

We are seeking an enthusiastic and committed Salaried GP to join our large, progressive GP Practice, serving a growing population of over 28,000 patients from our two modern, purpose-built premises. Any prospective GP would be joining a supportive team of GP Partners, Salaried GPs and the wider multidisciplinary team, working collaboratively to deliver high-quality, patient-centred care. As a well-established GP Training Practice, we are committed to fostering a culture of learning and development and are keen to support colleagues in pursuing their personal and professional interests throughout their career.

Our GPs offer 10/15 Minute Appointments as standard, allowing flexibility according to clinical need.

Main duties of the job

Provide patient-centred care through a combination of routine and urgent consultations, delivered face-to-face, by telephone or through other appropriate clinical channels.

Assess, diagnose and manage a wide range of acute, chronic and complex medical conditions in line with current best practice.

Undertake appropriate prescribing, investigations and referrals, ensuring patients receive timely and effective care.

Make safe, evidence-based clinical decisions, including effective risk management, safety-netting and follow-up arrangements where required.

Maintain clear, accurate and contemporaneous clinical records in accordance with professional and organisational standards.

Work collaboratively with GP colleagues and the wider multidisciplinary team to deliver integrated, coordinated care for patients.

Contribute to clinical meetings, quality improvement initiatives and the ongoing development of services within the Practice.

We offer:

10/15-minute appointments - GP appointments are scheduled at 10/15 minutes, according to clinical need

6 sessions per week - Regular weekly commitment with protected time built in.

Urgent & on call duties - Fair allocation of duty doctor and on call responsibilities.

Dedicated admin time - Structured administrative time included within sessions.

£11,500+ per session - Competitive sessional rate, dependent on experience.

6 Weeks Annual Leave + 1 Week Study Leave

Clinical Responsibilities:

Duty doctor & home visiting - Equitable share of duty doctor work and home visits.

Supervision & support - Opportunities to support clinical supervision of trainees and the wider MDT.

Multidisciplinary support - Access to Clinical Pharmacists, ACPs and an experienced Nursing Team.

Administrative support - A large, dedicated team of clinical and data administrators to streamline workflow.

Person Specification

Qualifications Essential

GMC Registered General Practitioner Inclusion on the Medical Performers List

Experience Essential

Fully qualified General Practitioner with current registration with the General Medical Council (GMC). Included on the NHS Performers List and eligible to practise independently within primary care. Strong clinical knowledge and excellent consultation skills, with the ability to deliver safe, effective and patient-centred care. Able to manage a diverse and varied clinical workload efficiently and autonomously. Demonstrable commitment to delivering high-quality care and achieving positive outcomes for patients. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.

Desirable

Experience managing acute presentations within duty doctor or urgent care clinics. Enthusiasm for developing clinical services, quality improvement initiatives or specialist areas of interest within the Practice. Experience using SystmOne
