QualificationsTo qualify at the GS-13 grade level, your resume must demonstrate at least one (1) full year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-12 grade level in the federal sector. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the ability, skill, and knowledge to successfully perform the duties of this position and is typically in or related to this line of work. Examples of specialized experience include performing the following types of tasks on a regular basis. Managed personnel including assignments, performance evaluations, hiring and other personnel concerns Directed or supervised budget including contracting concerns. Determined highest priority needs ensuring critical equipment bought Have processed aids through the Shore Station Maintenance Record process from field or staff position. Managed a program with inventory that needs specialized help to repair and the process for getting it repaired Managed ATON in accordance with applicable directives and policy guidelines from a field (Aids to Navigation Team or ATON cutter) or a staff (Sector or District) unit Selected performance measurement standards, analyzed the performance, determined ways to improve on performance to meet standards NOTE: All experience statements (i.e., duties, specialized experience, or related applicable assessment) copied from this announcement and pasted into your resume will not be considered as a demonstration of your qualifications for this position. Major DutiesYou will serve as a SUPERVISORY MARINE INFORMATION SPEC and be responsible for performing as Program Manager (PM) for Waterways Management in the Heartland District Aids to Navigation section in New Orleans, Louisiana, with responsibility for waterway management, military and other federal and local agencies and aids to navigation, marine information in both written and broadcast format. Being a Coast Guard civilian makes you a valuable member of the Coast Guard team. Typical work assignments include: Manage the administration of AtoN in accordance with applicable directives and policy guidelines set forth by the chief, Western rivers/ Waterways Management and the District Commander Utilizing accounting and budgetary management oversight, plan and direct a financial management program in support of the AtoN program Address vessel utilization and operational performance standards for the primary CG mission Direct and analyze the Shore Station Maintenance Record (SSMR) program for all district aids to navigation units Provide day-to-day management and supervisory oversight to a portion of the Waterways Management staffRequirementsAll qualification requirements must be met by the closing date of the announcement.
