Job SummaryYou will serve as an ACCOUNTANT in the Business & Financial Management Community (BFMC), Comptroller Group, Accounting Department, Accounting Operations Division (B821000), of NAVAIRWARCENAC DIV.
QualificationsIn addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Executing, reviewing, and adjusting accounting transactions within the Navy Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system; 2) Analyzing, reconciling, and resolving complex accounting discrepancies, evaluating financial data accuracy, and implementing corrective actions to address adverse trends. 3) Conducting the day-to-day operations of cost accounting functions; 4) Actively making suggestions and recommendations to management based on financial data to improve systems and contribute to policy decisions; and 5) Reconciling transactions, records, and accounts, including conducting research to resolve any discrepancies. Major DutiesYou will execute and review accounting transactions within the Navy ERP system.You will system develop, prepare, and analyze financial reports for various high-level departments (NAWCAD, NAVAIR, FMO, OMB, DOD, and DFAS).You will manage cost accounting functions and ensuring data integrity.You will recommend improvements and policy changes for accounting systems and processes.
