QualificationsOne year of specialized experience equivalent in level of difficulty and responsibility to that of the next lower grade (GS-11) within the federal service, which demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position, is required. Specialized experience is defined as: Applying automated systems design and processing principles, techniques, policies and regulations related to finance operations; identifying, documenting and recommending system requirements; research issues related to the integration of financial systems and to the application of new policies and laws. You may qualify for consideration if meeting specialized experience, education requirement, 90 days after competitive appointment requirement, and all other qualification requirements within 30 calendar days after the closing date of the announcement, unless otherwise indicated on the announcement.
Major DutiesProvides operational support for finance systems at the Defense Finance and Accounting Service (DFAS) through systems analysis, systems modification, data management and enhanced business processes.Oversees the testing of system changes and monitors the implementation of enhancements or new products.Through the analysis of business processes, analyze data requirements for the enhancement of automated financial management systems.Reviews operational capabilities and provides comments and recommendations for proposed changes, coordinating with peers throughout the directorate to determine the best method for accomplishing the system change.Establishes conditions and requirements for tests, assembles project of functional users, establishes project requirements and timetables, and provides technical advice and assistance to team members for the interpretation of system controls.Advises supervisors and senior managers on major system issues, associated risks, functional impact, and data integrity.
