QualificationsGS-9 One year of specialized experience equivalent in level of difficulty and responsibility to that of the next lower grade (GS-7) within the federal service, which demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position, is required. Specialized experience is defined as: Research and analysis with DAI timekeeping. Ability to analyze, plan, and evaluate complex financial functions and internal controls; interpret and assess the impact of new or revised policies from higher authorities; develop new operational methods and guidelines; and prepare and present comprehensive oral and written recommendations and implementing guidance. GS-11 One year of specialized experience equivalent in level of difficulty and responsibility to that of the next lower grade (GS-9) within the federal service, which demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position, is required. Specialized experience is defined as: Research and analysis with DAI timekeeping. Performing comprehensive quality control examinations of financial policies and procedures, analyzing operational data to detect deficiencies, and recommending systemic enhancements to internal controls. Reviewing complex internal and external financial reports to develop formalized recommendations, and providing technical guidance to functional directorates regarding regulatory changes, systems operations, and structural mission impacts. You may qualify for consideration if meeting specialized experience, education requirement, 90 days after competitive appointment requirement, and all other qualification requirements within 30 calendar days after the closing date of the announcement, unless otherwise indicated on the announcement.
Major DutiesServes as a DAI Site and Labor timekeeping financial management analyst responsible for performing financial management analysis and regulatory research work.Analyzes and evaluates financial management laws, governing policies, guidelines, rules, regulations, and precedents to provide advisory services to employees and management.Confers with personnel at all levels; observes operating practices; and accomplishes any other tasks deemed essential to performance of related duties.Provides financial management technical advice and assistance to functional directorates in identifying problem areas involving regulatory requirements.Conducts operational reviews for all assigned financial management to ensure accuracy of data, detect inconsistencies in processing and management reports, and improve internal controls.
