QualificationsTo qualify for the Supervisory Supply Management Specialist, PG-2003-13, you must meet the following requirements: Applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the PG-12 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized experience includes: (1) Applying manufacturing, warehousing, logistics, and supply processes to coordinate inbound/outbound shipments and resolve carrier delays and routing issues; and (2) Establishing criteria to identify and analyze trends in supply programs and manufacturing waste in order to detect and address discrepancies; and (3) Leading or overseeing employees in supply chain operations, including the oversight, tracking, accuracy, compliance, and loss prevention of high value inventory items. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Major DutiesCoordinates and implements the supply functions of receiving, inspection, storage, and retrieval and distribution operations.Recommends adjustments in manpower, equipment, and facilities, in order to improve service. Determines the need for changes in work distribution, reassignment of functions, and other similar matters as they relate to inventory control and shipping.Responds to studies of staffing, warehouse layout, procedures, and training to effect corrective actions.Conducts and/or coordinates with staff in planning to include improvement of existing facilities and the enhancement of storage and retrieval policy.Leads and or participates in regular meetings, ensuring logistics needs and requirements are being met.Develops or implements supply policies, procedures, and process improvements.Oversees inventory accuracy, stock readiness, packaging, material handling, and shipping.Ensures compliance with audit readiness, internal controls, and risk management.Performs supervisory duties, including assigning work, evaluating performance and counseling, coaching, mentoring, and developing employees.
