Are you an experienced, qualified teacher looking for a rewarding new opportunity to support SEN learners?

Pentland Field is a vibrant school, making a real difference to the pupils we work with. Pupils make progress in all areas of life, becoming young adults who know their own value, and are active members of their local community. Pupils work in smaller classes (10-14 pupils) with helpful, friendly and skilled Teaching Assistants. Pupils and staff are well supported by onsite therapy teams.

We are an all-through school meeting the educational needs of around 175 children and young adults aged 4-19 with a range of learning disabilities, including those who may be have physical or sensory needs or may have an Autism diagnosis.

Staff at Pentland Field School are passionately committed to helping all pupils unlock their potential. We are looking to appoint a class teacher, who feels the same. We are looking for a September start; however, for experienced teachers who have missed the resignation date and for the right candidate, we would be willing to consider a start after the October half term.

We welcome applications from candidates with proven classroom experience. Candidates are invited to contact the school for more information.

Interviews for this post will be held on Monday 15th June 2026. Any shortlisted candidates accepting the offer of interview would need to be available in person, and should expect to prepare and teach a short English or Maths lesson, complete a short presentation on an aspect of planning, and take part in a formal panel interview.

To help prepare for this process, shortlisted candidates will be invited to visit the school on Friday 12th June, in which information about the class they teach on the interview day will be shared with them.

We encourage you to take a look at our school website here.
