We have an exciting opportunity for a Part time Senior Learning Disability Nurse to join our Integrated Mental Health team team at HMP New Hall, a female prison and young offenders institution (YOI) in Flockton, West Yorkshire.
A fully integrated Healthcare team with a nice team environment, a really tight knit team.
Hours
25 hours a week working 2 x full days of 8.00am - 6.00pm and 1 x half day 8am-1pm, all day shifts and all between Monday - Sunday, on a rota basis. 1 weekend every 5/6 weeks and to cover both days, 9-5pm.
Salary
This position is part time, youll receive an annual salary up to £49,175 per annum FTE - depending on experience.

Main duties of the job
As a Senior Learning Disabilities Nurse, your responsibilities will vary. You will
Respond as directed by the Mental Health Team Manager in the day to day operational functioning of the Mental Health team. You will have responsibility for a caseload and be accountable for all aspects of delivering a nursing service for adults with learning disabilities/ challenging behaviour, within the criminal justice setting. You will be working with adults whose behaviours have resulted in their offending and coming into contact with the criminal justice system. You will be working with the multi-disciplinary team to undertake person centred specialist behavioural assessments, planning and co-ordination of positive non aversive behavioural approaches to service users. You will play an active part in the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of the patients care following our policies and procedures and always considering safeguarding. Qualifications required
Registered Nurse Learning Disabilities Current professional qualification (NMC) Evidence of Continued Professional Development Substantial experience working with adults with Learning disabilities with a range of clinical presentations. Evidence of working Learning disability health within a community or inpatient setting. Able to evidence examples of intergraded multi-disciplinary working Evidence of use of a range of standardized and non-standardized behavioural assessment tools supporting clinical reasoning Experience of working in a mental health team - desirable Although not essential ideal applicants would have experience in a hospital, community or prison environment.
