We have an exciting opportunity for a Substance Misuse Recovery Worker to join our Substance Misuse team at HMP Winchester, a category B Prison located in Winchester.

HMP Winchester is a male remand prison based in Winchester with a capacity for 650 inmates.

Join the Recovery Team and empower those whom wish to make changes in their behaviour to promote health and well-being through recovery from drugs and alcohol. This is a crucial role within the healthcare team, making a real difference to patients, and delivering outstanding care. We are looking for someone with experience within substance misuse that can hit the ground running.

Hours

Monday - Friday

0800 - 1600 Salary

This position is full time, youll receive an annual salary up to £33,510 per annum.

Main duties of the job As a Substance Misuse Recovery Worker, your responsibilities will vary. You will

Provide outstanding evidence based care to a case load of psycho social patients seeking out, listening to and acting on their feedback so that care is personalised and informed by what matters to them. You will provide a programme of psycho social interventions, along with information and advice on substance misuse, alcohol, smoking cession, blood borne viruses and safe sex practices. Deliver non-judgemental care on a one to one basis and through group work, supporting the nursing and pharmacy teams in primary care within healthcare centres and on wings and house blocks. Youll make a real difference as defined throughout our bespoke HiJ competency framework following our policies, procedures and always considering safeguarding.
