Job summary
To deliver safe, effective and independent histopathology reporting in Cellular Pathology within an agreed Stage D scope of practice, alongside macroscopic dissection of relevant specimens. The post holder may present cases at MDT, provide expert advice to clinical teams, lead quality and audit activities to ISO 15189 standards, and support education, research and service development within an integrated team.

o Timely, accurate and safe histopathology reports within agreed turnaround times.o Compliance with UKAS ISO 15189 and departmental QMS.o Effective MDT contribution and positive user feedback.o Demonstrable audit/quality improvement and education outputs.

The NHS East and South East London Pathology Partnership is an arms-length organisation providing pathology services to Barts Health NHS Trust, Homerton Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust and Lewisham and Greenwich NHS Trust. The Pathology Partnership is hosted by Barts Health.The Pathology Partnership was formed in May 2021. Experience Essential
Advanced practice in Reporting and dissection within agreed Stage D scope; Participation in EQA; Evidence of audit/QMS contributions.
Skills Essential
Advanced analytical/judgement; Synoptic reporting; Communication of complex/sensitive information;
Knowledge Essential
RCPath datasets/tissue pathways; IBMS dissection principles; Appropriate use/interpretation of ancillary tests.
Qualifications Essential
HCPC-registered BMS; MSc (or equivalent); FIBMS (or equivalent). RCPath/IBMS ASD in Histopathology Reporting with completed Stage D preceptorship and Dissection; IBMS DEP in Histological Dissection (or equivalent competence).
