Job summary
Stapenhill Medical Centre are recruiting a General Practice Assistant. This temporary position is for 24 hours per week until the end of September 2027 with a possibility of becoming permanent. The hours of work will be 9am-5.30pm (with 30 minutes unpaid for lunch) on Tuesday, Wednesday & Friday.
A GPA will support the GP's smooth running of clinics by performing the more routine administrative tasks on behalf of the GP, freeing up their time to focus on the patient.
Main duties of the job
Sorting all clinical post and prioritising for the GP in terms of actions. Signposting some post to others such as clinical pharmacist etc.Extracting all information from clinical letters that needs coding and adding to notes.Arranging appointments, tests and follow up appointments of patients.Assisting with all general admin tasks.Any other duties required by management or GP Partners.

We are a highly productive Practice always looking to provide excellent care and new services to our patients.
We currently have two full-time Partners, assisted by five employed GP's, three Pharmacists, one Advanced Nurse Practitioner, two Practice Nurses and one Healthcare Assistant.
With a patient list currently in excess of 9,300 and growing, and with the development of new services, we are seeking to recruit to address our current and future needs.
We are a friendly well established Practice with high QOF scores and a Good CQC rating.
The successful applicant will work within our team to deliver an excellent service to our patients. Good communication and organisational skills are essential. Candidates must be flexible, reliable, have the ability to multi-task and work efficiently within a busy and pressurised environment. Previous experience would be highly advantageous, however, full training will be provided. The Practice uses SystmOne Clinical System.

Desirable
