About this role
Job summary This role helps our organisation grow and remain sustainable by shaping strong financial bids, business cases and improvement plans that support high-quality community health services. You'll work with clinical and corporate colleagues to turn complex financial information into clear insight, helping leaders make informed decisions that benefit patients and services. You'll be part of a supportive finance team, working closely with service leads, managers and partners across the organisation. Your work will influence how resources are used, how services develop, and how we respond to financial challenges in a changing NHS environment.
Main duties of the job What you'll do:
Lead the financial planning and costing of bids, tenders and business cases Build clear financial models, including risk and scenario analysis Support cost improvement plans and value-for-money initiatives Present financial information to senior leaders in a clear, accessible way Provide expert advice to services on budgets, forecasts and financial risks What we're looking for: A fully qualified accountant (ACCA or CIMA, or equivalent) Strong experience in financial analysis, modelling and reporting Ability to explain complex information to non-finance colleagues A collaborative approach, with the confidence to challenge and influence We welcome applications from people of all backgrounds and value the different perspectives and experiences that help us improve and work more fairly together.

Qualifications Essential
Fully Qualified ACCA or CIMA
Knowledge Essential
Good understanding of accounting principles and theory Comprehensive understanding of current accounting principles and practice
Desirable
Good understanding of the NHS and the way in which it is funded. Good understanding of current affairs and issues of the day Comprehensive understanding of the NHS including the organisational structure and the roles and responsibilities of each type of organisation Good understanding of the responsibilities of either a provider or commissioner organisation in the NHS
Experience Essential
Working in a team producing financial data to strict deadlines Working on your own to a given brief and timescale Preparation and presentation of financial data or information Working in a Finance department with experience of management accounting Presentation of self-prepared financial data to managers/budget holders Experienced in the use of computerised ledger systems Working to a brief and using own initiative to complete the task on time and to high professional standards
Desirable
Significant experience working in finance in an NHS organisation or the public sector
