Job summary
We are seeking a salaried GP at Killick Street Health Centre to provide high-quality, patient-centred care with a strong emphasis on continuity and relationship-based medicine. You will hold your own patient list, enabling you to build long-term therapeutic relationships, support proactive management of long-term conditions, and deliver personalised care across the patient journey. The role includes routine and urgent consultations, care coordination, safeguarding, and collaborative working within a multidisciplinary team to ensure safe, accessible, and consistent care for the local community.
Main duties of the job
At Killick Street Health Centre, a salaried GPs main duties focus on delivering continuity-based, patient-centred primary care while contributing to the wider practice team.
Key duties include:
Clinical care
Routine and same-day consultations (face-to-face, telephone, and e-consult)Diagnosis, management, and follow-up of acute and chronic conditionsPrescribing safely and reviewing medicationsManaging complexity and multimorbidityContinuity of care
Holding and managing a registered patient listBuilding long-term therapeutic relationshipsProactive care for patients with long-term conditions and high-risk cohortsPreventive and population health
Health promotion and disease prevention (screening, vaccinations, lifestyle advice)Supporting QOF/clinical targets and structured reviewsSafeguarding and clinical governance
Safeguarding children and vulnerable adultsMaintaining accurate, timely clinical recordsParticipating in audits, significant event reviews, and quality improvementTeamworking and system working

About us
We are a friendly, dynamic and supportive training practice based in a purpose-built building in the heart of vibrant Kings Cross. Were a stones throw from the largest regeneration project in Europe and minutes away from Eurostar. We are a diverse clinical team made up of doctors, Registrars, F2s, Nurses, Pharmacists, PA, Physiotherapist, Paramedic and HCAs. We have a large administration team to provide support for all clinicians. We serve a very diverse patient population of more than 13,000 patients and we have great links to the community via our PPG and other local community groups.
We are part of a well-established PCN and work closely with the Integrated Care Teams, the ICB and Islington GP Federation. We are committed to our patients and the NHS.
Job description Job responsibilities
We are seeking an experienced and patient focused GP for 4-5 sessions per week, one of which will be an on-call session. You will have your own list of patients and be involved teaching/training. You will join us for our daily huddles and weekly clinical meetings. We operate a full triage system.

Person Specification
Knowledge and skills Essential
- GMC registration with licence to practise - Inclusion on the NHS Performers List - Experience working as a GP in UK general practice - Ability to manage a registered patient list and provide continuity of care - Competence in managing acute presentations and chronic disease in primary care - Safe and effective prescribing practice - Strong communication skills with patients, families, and colleagues - Ability to work independently while contributing to a multidisciplinary team - Commitment to high-quality, patient-centred care - Good record keeping and understanding of clinical governance, safeguarding, and risk management - Ability to manage workload and prioritise effectively in a busy practice setting
Desirable
- Experience working in a continuity-focused or list-based GP model - Experience in general practice (ideally 2+ years preferred) - Experience in teaching, mentoring, or clinical supervision - Experience in quality improvement, audit, or service development - Additional clinical interests (e.g. diabetes, womens health, frailty, mental health, minor surgery) - Experience working in inner-city, diverse, or high-deprivation populations - Familiarity with EMIS and structured clinical templates - Experience contributing to PCN or integrated care system work - Leadership experience or willingness to take on practice development roles
