About this role

Job summary

If you are a motivated individual, who wishes to be part of a team that supports the Trust in the day-to-day delivery of excellent patient care, you may wish to apply for the post of Receptionist.

The post will be located in the Main Hospital and will be part of a team working for receptions based around outpatients.

Main duties of the job

Use of PC/VDU to:

Check, correct and update patient information on EPR systemBook outpatient appointmentRegister PatientsRequest, action and distribute computer lists as appropriateRecord requests for patient information from GPs and other Hospitals/Departments.Use of Case Note Management module to record case note movements around the trust.Provides and receives patient information/data to/from patients, clients, staff, GPs and other hospitalsProvides a pulling/location/preparation service for the Trust in regard to case notesUndertake sorting/filing/retrieval of case notes and investigation resultsProvision of appropriate reproduction service to assist in the release of copy medical records in line with Data Protection ActUse of internal microfilming/archiving serviceProvide a dedicated reception service for all enquiries both face to face and telephoneTo undertake Reception duties, Booking of outpatient appointments Booking of Interpreters when required.

Person Specification

Experience Essential

Previous reception/clerical or customer care experience Previous NHS/Healthcare experience

Desirable

Knowledge of patient administration systems

Qualifications Essential

Educated to GCSE pass level Grade C/4 or above (including English and Mathematics)

Desirable

NVQ Level 2 in Customer Service or willingness to work towards

Knowledge Essential

Confidentiality and an understanding of the Data Protection Act

Desirable

NHS/Healthcare Background
